Welcome
THE NATIONAL RESEARCH ONCOLOGY CENTER
Kazakhstan is building an oncology treatment and research center to serve the Eurasian region. With more than 30,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed annually in Kazakhstan — and more than half at a late stage — this initiative is vital. The National Research Oncology Center (NROC) will be a Cancer Institute housing some of the most advanced technologies and clinical applications for enhanced oncology care, including stereotactic radiosurgery, 3.0T MRI, and disease-based clinical pathways to improve health and wellbeing throughout Kazakhstan. The Institute will include 100 acute care beds and a 150-bed family house, allowing for the flexibility of keeping radiation oncology and chemotherapy patients near the facility during their course of treatment without the cost of traditional inpatient beds. NROC will also host educational events and clinical trials.
Under the management of Nazarbayev University’s National Medical Holdings, the government-funded National Research Oncology Center will include:
- A hospital
- Outpatient care
- A research facility
- A hotel complex
